Gen 9 Pokemon Revealed from Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet 

The Pokemon game series will be adding two new games to their collection this fall; Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet! These new games will unleash the new Gen 9 Pokemon, and fans are bouncing off the walls in anticipation! 

Gen 9 Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are the most awaited games of 2022. Two trailers for the upcoming games have been released by Game Freak, which introduces a variety of the new Gen 9 Pokemon! A few of the Pokemon from the previous titles will also be a part of these Gen 9 RPGs. Additionally, the trailers have also revealed some exciting details about the gameplay, including a fully open world where you can travel without any restrictions!

Gen 9 Pokemon Revealed in Trailer #1 

The first trailer gave us our first glimpse at the upcoming Pokemon in the new ninth-generation RPGs. It introduced three new starter Pokemon, including Quaxly, Sprigatito, and Fuecoco. Players can choose any of them to begin their Pokemon journey.

Water-Type Quaxly

Quaxly is a blue and white duck with a blue cap/blue tuft of hair adorning his head! The Duckling Pokemon has the Torrent ability. It increases its special attack by 50% while using one of the water-type moves. It is 1 foot 8 inches and weighs 13.4 pounds. The blue duck’s official description reads, “The earnest and tidy Duckling Pokémon.”

Grass-Type Sprigatito 

Sprigatito is described as “The capricious, attention-seeking Grass Cat Pokémon.” The green cat has leaf patterns in its fur. It has a height of 1 foot 4 inches and weighs 9 pounds. The cat has the Overgrow ability, which increases its special attack by a whopping 50% when it uses any of the grass-type moves. 

Fire-Type Fuecoco

This red crocodile features yellow squares on its body and yellow hair! It has two toes which are black in color and white fans. The ‘Fire Croc Pokemon’ has the Blaze ability. It increases its special attack by 50% when it uses one of the Fire-type moves. The croc is 1 foot 4 inches and 21.6 pounds in weight. Its official description is, “The laid-back Fire Croc Pokémon does things at its own pace.”

Gen 9 Pokemon Revealed in Trailer #2 

The second trailer revealed two legendary Pokemon that left us stunned! This includes Legendaries Miraidon and Koraidon. It also had glimpses of the Gen 9 Pokedex, which shows us several new Pokemon. This includes Pawmi, Smoliv, and Lechonk.

Pokemon Pawmi

This is an electric-type mouse Pokemon. It is the partner of Nemona, a new character serving as the Professor’s assistant. 

Pawmi’s cheeks store electricity, according to Game Freak. It then rubs its paws on its face to generate power and shock enemies! 

Smoliv

This green olive-shaped Pokemon is of Grass/Normal-type. Its head stores bitter oil, which it sprays at enemies to slow them down. Additionally, Smoliv spends most of its time outside as it creates oil by soaking up energy from the sun. Moreover, it has the Early Bird ability, allowing it to wake up faster when attacked during its sleep. 

Lechonk

Lechonk is a Normal-type Hog Pokémon that uses its nose for sniffing and finding berries. It also emits a specific odor that scares the Bug-type Pokémon. Once Lechonk feels threatened, it will run towards its enemy! It also has the Aroma Veil ability. 

Legendary Pokémon Koraidon 

This Legendary Dragon Pokemon is found exclusively in the Pokemon Scarlet game. It has organic skin and no robotic parts. According to rumors, this legendary may be ridable! This may be true as Koraidon’s design resembles motorcycles. It has a huge tire on its chest! However, this information is not confirmed by Game Freak. 

Legendary Pokémon Miraidon 

With its LED eyes and legs made of jet engines, Pokemon Miraidon is the legendary dragon mascot of Pokemon Violet. It, too, is rumored to be ridable like the Legendary Pokemon Koraidon.

In February, Pokemon Presents announced the arrival of the Gen 9 Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet games. Then, the official release date was disclosed in a trailer!
