Drift Zones are PR stunts and can only be accessed after completing the Horizon Rush PR Stunts series. They test players’ drifting capability in a fun and exciting way. Completing a drift zone challenge will bestow players with numerous accolade points and lots of XP. They’re an excellent way for players to rapidly make their way to the Horizon Festival Hall of Fame.

Drifting in Forza Horizon 5

All Forza Horizon 5 Drift Zones can be found in Mexico. There are about 20 unique drift zones, and players must drive along a specific length of the road marked by flags to earn stars and XP. To earn points, players must constantly drift through the stretch of road. They will get no points if they usually drive. To initiate drifting, players must tap their e brakes while turning their car simultaneously. However, it is crucial to keep in mind that drifting requires lots of practice. Most players need at least a week of daily drifting to excel in the challenge. It is mandatory to maintain steering in both directions. If players fail to keep this delicate balance, they will spin out of control and lose. Once the stretch of road marked by flags is over, players will get their final scores and ratings.

Drift Zone Challenge: What happens if you fail?

Unfortunately, failing the drift zone challenge is very easy and often happens. Players lose their entire score and must start at the very beginning. This happens when they stray too far away from the flag-marked road or drive reverse. It also happens if they stop their car even for a second. There isn’t a time limit to complete the challenge. However, players must constantly move through each zone without stopping to win.

Score Thresholds

Each zone possesses three score thresholds. Crossing each threshold will award players with a star rating and unique rewards.

A one-star score represents 100 accolade points, and a two-star score means 250 accolade points, and a three-star score awards players with 500 accolade points.

Each drift zone has its threshold. To find the point of a zone, go to the map and hover over its icon. Additionally, each player’s score is noted on a leaderboard to compare their scores with others.

How to find Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 5?

The Horizon Adventure campaign introduced the Forza Horizon 5 Drift Zones. They are a part of the PR Stunt series and are 20 in number. Players can filter the map only to show drift zones if they want to focus all their attention on completing this challenge. The zones are distinguished from other roads by blue flags. Small notches and indentations indicate the start and finish points on the map’s roads.

How to Unlock Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 5?

Players need to put in a lot of elbow grease to unlock this exciting drifting challenge. They will need to finish the Horizon Rush PR Stunts series Expedition successfully. This will be a slow process as the Horizon Rush activities are locked initially. Thus, players must start at the very beginning with small challenges. The first challenge they need to complete is Horizon Festival Mexico followed by Horizon Apex. Then, the last challenge they must finish is the Horizon Wilds races. After this, the Expedition series will unlock, and players can begin their PR Stunt journey.

The Expedition series starts with the Gran Caldera Expedition, the first Horizon Adventure chapter. Upon completing it, players get adventure points that they can use to unlock the Canyon region to access the Full Moon Party Expedition. To achieve it, players must drive afloat through a ridiculously crowded parade. Once it’s complete, players can use their points to unlock Drift Zones.

Drift Zone Tips and Tricks

Although it is not mandatory to do Drift Zones, they’re a great way to get bonus accolade points! Plus, they’re a fun challenge, especially for people who love to drift. Mentioned below are a few tips and tricks to make finishing drift zones a little less challenging.

Since drift zones can be completed either way (the start and endpoints are interchangeable), it is good to try completing them in both directions. This is because it is almost always easier to drift in one of the directions, especially if one direction is uphill and the other is downhill.

Using suitable driving assists can make a huge difference. Turning off Stability Control and Traction makes drifting particularly easy.

Choose a car that is fast, heavy, and rough. The Hoonigan Ford Escort RS Cosworth WRC is an excellent choice, especially for novice players.

Stay between the flags to earn maximum points. Players lose points even while drifting if they move far away from the designated road.

The faster players drive, the more points they get! Thus, remember to stay on the throttle throughout the drift zone to maintain a quick speed.
