How to Unlock Gold Gliders, Body and Wheels?
Like all other vehicles, you can customize your gold kart. You will need a gold glider, gold standard body and gold wheels. Unfortunately, you don’t need just coins to unlock these special parts! Instead, you need to put in a lot of elbow grease to get them.
Mentioned below are the requirements for unlocking all the gold parts.
Gold Gliders
This part is probably the easiest to get and it requires 5000 coins. Ofcourse, getting such a huge amount of coins in Mario Kart 8 deluxe is no joke. However, you can use one of the two methods mentioned down below to get infinite coins.
Choose the Multiplayer 2 player option in VS race mode. Then, select a character and kart combo that has good speed as well as good acceleration. Activate auto steering by pressing the + button on the kart selection screen and pressing L. On the same screen, press R and activate auto acceleration. Set your race settings to 200cc speed, no CPU, no teams, all vehicles and no items. Now, set the course to ‘choose’ and race to ‘48’. Select a race and your character will automatically steer itself and complete the race while collecting coins for you without any help! You may repeat the process as many times as you want to get unlimited coins. This method allows you to complete homework or enjoy a fun hobby as your character does all the hard work for you unmanned!
The second method is much faster and allows you to get as many as 10 coins in a minute. You will select multiplayer 2 player mode and choose battle mode. Select any character and kart and change the battle settings to no COM, coin runners, 1 minute round time and 24 rounds. Next, select Battle course 1 and play any one of the two characters. Simply collect 10 coins in a minute and the next round will start. Collect another 10 coins in it and repeat the process until you get your desired number of coins.
Using the two methods given above, you can make 5000 coins and unlock this gold part easily!
Gold Standard Body
This part is hard to get as you must complete all 12 Grand Prix Cups in Mirror Mode with at least one star. The mirror mode features vertically flipped track courses which makes this mode way more trickier than the others!
Additionally, you must also complete the 150cc cups as well! These cups are equivalent to 50cc and 100cc race speeds. Thus, you don’t need to complete them to get the gold standard body! You only need all the 150cc and Mirror cups with a minimum of one star!
Gold Wheels
These spicy wheels are a must have for any Mario Kart lover! Unfortunately, they are hard to get as players must take down all the forty eight staff ghosts in at least 150cc races. These ghosts are only available to race against in Time Trial mode.
Beating these staff ghosts is no easy task! You will need to particularly master the art of drifting. Pressing ‘ZR’ , ‘R’ or SR’ when turning into a corner will allow you to skid and drift.
Additionally, you must know racetracks like the back of your hand and know all the shortcuts in each course. You will also have a few mushrooms that will give you speed boosts. However, you must use them at the right time if you want to beat the staff ghosts!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has only one unlockable character that is Gold Mario. He resembles Metal Mario a lot and shares the same stats as him.
Getting Gold Mario is the hardest task! You will need a gold trophy in all the Grand Prix Cups in 200cc. You don’t need any stars in the races but staying on track and completing the race itself is a huge task!
To win the Grand Prix Cups in 200cc, choose a character and kart with superior handling and grip. This is because losing control in such a high speed race class is a bit too easy! However, keep in mind that by choosing stability, you will compromise on speed! The high acceleration of stable characters will help you take down your opponents so you really don’t need to worry much about the subpar speeds!
We also recommend turning automatic steering on or smart for better control and learning how to brake drift. Simply press B mid drift to initiate brake drifting and enjoy a good speed boost with a more controlled drifting experience. Additionally, skip the tricks on the speed ramps! It is better to just drift over them as this will give you more control. Also, make sure you’re familiar with all the shortcuts in your race course to ensure you win all the Grand Prix Cups!
